Citations Read all the sections and do the exercises. The British only use a letter for the first name, but their citation formatting is otherwise similar to what we in the US do.

Sita Sings the Blues: Clip from full-length movie

The entire movie is a cartoon that intertwines the story of Rama and Sita with the story of the artist who made the movie, who experienced a similar treatment by her man. The score is a 1920s American jazz singer. As you'll read and see, Rama is a god, Sita his human wife who is kidnapped by another god, and then rescued by Rama, his brother, and their friend the Monkey King. I've included other links if you're interested in exploring more about the movie.

Once you've had a chance to digest the clip of Sita Sings the Blues consider how he movie was created. The director, Nina Paley, set the myth of the Ramayana to Jazz singer Annette Harshaw 1920's music, with modern day Indians telling the story. As an additional layer, Paley interweaves her story of heartbreak into the film. To say this is a complex mix of history and pop culture would be an understatement.
