The Growth of Christianity
As it would be expected, Christianity did not simply grow into the major religion that holds a prominent place in many countries. The apostles began traveling all around the nearby areas to spread Christianity, and the most notable of them all was Paul. Only about 20 christians were in existance following the passing of Jesus, but, Christianity initially grew as a sect of Judaism. Once it became clear that the traditional Jewish path could not coincide with Christianity, the apostles began to travel -- most notably, Paul traveled to Thessalonia and Corinth, both Greek areas. This traveling and direct contact with the people of Greece proved to be vital to the church, as almost all of Greece remains Orthodox Christian to this day.
