  5. Chose one object from the Museums that they have not used for this class before that your Team feels would be useful for their semester project (novel, video game, disaster response, clothing/shoe brand) and create 5 metadata that are not already listed on the museum page. 🗝️
  6. Write a paragraph on the context of your chosen object relates to your semester project (what is happening where the object was created at the time of its creation.) 📝
  7. Meet in a synchronous way (virtual or face-to-face) to complete the assignment. 🤝

Introduction

Metadata is the way much of your digital world is structured, including how history is displayed on the web.

Instructions

  1. Read the entire assignment first.
  2. Meet to divide the work fairly and communicate your work plan to your project manager in writing.
  3. Using the four museums below, chose five objects from the period 500 BCE to 1000 CE that you think directly relate to your semester project topic.
  4. In a Word document created in Teams, identify all the metadata the museum includes for the five objects. If you cut and past information, be sure to reformat the text so it displays correctly for your document.
5.Identify if each metadata item is descriptive or structural.
  5. Chose one item from the museum your Team has not used before, that relates to your semester topic.
  6. Write new five metadata that are not included on the museum website for your item and identify if the metadata are descriptive or structural.
  7. Write a paragraph on the context of how your chosen object relates to your semester project (what is happening where the object was created at the time of its creation.)
