<text>I have chosen to analyze two sculptures of women during the Hellenistic period. The first sculpture is made from terracotta and the women is dressed in a himation (cloak) and the other sculpture is a woman dressed in a himation made out of bronze. Both of these sculptures can help show historians what the everyday life was during the Hellenistic period because if two sculptures share a feature there is a good chance that was common for women living in that society. By analyzing these two sculptures I hope to draw my own conclusions about the average day of a women during the Hellenistic period. Both of these women were draped in himation which seemed to be what most of the women in this time period wore. These cloaks that were worn seemed to cover most of the women possibly meaning that they use modesty in their fashion. Although only one sculpture had a women dancing in it I'm predicting that dancing was a profession that women were allowed to participate in. Both of these sculptures were carved with lots a detail possibly meaning that their beauty was desired by society. For example, the women in the terracotta sculpture had her hair neatly tucked up which could mean that she is putting an effort into empress society with her looks</text>
