The two objects that I have found is the "Standing Female Deity" and "Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Infinite Compassion." The reason I chose these sculptures is that I wanted to show that deities are both female and male. I wanted to illustrate that they both 'look the part.' What I mean by this is that I realized that the females head covering is quite similar to that of the males. Due to the fact that they are both deities, it definitely shows their power and domination over their lands. Also, I noticed that the way their posed shows a lot of stableness and strength. For example, the woman was standing upright and her posture looked confident and secure. The man, on the other hand, looked more relaxed and still tough on the bench. The material that is used to create these sculptures also plays a role. Bronze, handmade coils, and molds were used to create these spectacular intricate sculptures.

I wish to have a better understanding of how to find credible resources that would only strengthen my descriptions and knowledge of the subject (art). </text>

This sculpture is on trend with art in the Hellenistic Period given it depicts a woman dancing. In spite of not being able to see the dancers face, it gives a sense of sensuality and mystery. Because it was made from bronze, we can assume it is a less expensive small statute perhaps belonging to someone of middle class. I assume dancing was a form of entertainment that those of means could enjoy during this time period. </text>

This stand, with four rings supported by a magnificent ibex, would have supported lamps or bowls holding offerings or incense and may have been used in temple or in banquet rituals.

This stand was made by a sophisticated method of metalwork known as the lost-wax technique. The desired image was sculpted in wax and surrounded with clay that hardened into a mold when baked. When the mold was fired, the wax was melted and "lost," leaving a negative space that corresponded to the wax image. Molten metal was then poured into the cavity to form a reproduction of the original wax model."</text>

This is connected with poverty because it shows who was wealthy and who was not. This particular vessels definitely looked expensive and only the rich were able to afford it. This also relates to poverty because it is very likely that the lower class created these vessels so that the rich would be able to enjoy any drink that was given to them in a beautiful flask. I am very interested to see how this flask was made, how long it took and how much effort was put into only one of these flasks. </text>
