<text>When I first saw the two images I thought they looked extremely similar. Both the girl and woman appear to be in the same pose, facing to their right side and in the similar robe style clothing. At first I believe they were both women but reading into their descriptions, one is woman and another a girl. The woman is considered to be found in a private dwelling for religious purposes in a shrine. Often sculptures like this were in the same pose with grace-like faces that would bring liveliness. Then the girl is actually represented as child kind of. By then they were presenting kids as kids and not miniature adults, however you can still see she appears to be dressed like a woman. Both sculptures are from the origins of Athens where they originate from. If someone was to ask me why these matter, I would say because it's an early form of art that led the way for future art. You can see other sculptures with naked bodies which now a days is paintings or photographs of naked bodies. It's matters because it's true pure art.</text>

The two objects I choose were an object of a bronze statue of an African boy and a Terracotta vase in the form of a sleeping African boy. Both of these objects shows us about everyday life in that period that Greeks looked down on Africans. In a way they used their sculptures to over exaggerate African features. The first object which is a bronze statue of an African boy who barely has any clothes on maybe indicating he’s a slave. The boy seems to be dirty and not have a lot of clothes, probably showing they were looked down on. The second sculpture is a terracotta vase of a little boy who also seems tired and poor. The fact that they made the vase out of a little African boy shows that they were not valued or respected. Showing that Greeks didn’t know much about them or had anyone to ask what their culture or values were. Overall both of these sculptures show how Greeks during the Hellenistic looked down or had no respect for Africans during that era.

<text>"This sculpture made during the Gupta period (3rd century CE to 6th century CE) shows a scene from the Mahabharata. Here, two elite warriors riding their war chariots are seen engaging each other in an archery duel. The body of the chariot on the left, being damaged, cannot be seen but its wheel and horses are visible. The chariot on the right is mostly intact.

The use of chariots in battle had declined by this period and it is extremely unlikely that the Gupta army used them. This is thus a sculptural representation of how the Gupta artists imagined chariot warfare to have been in the preceding periods of history, particularly in the Epic period where they were much valued.
