Questions:

  1. The SIFT process is effective confronting misinformation (information that is incorrect, but people believe to be true) and disinformation (information that people know to be false and spread in order to achieve some aim). How would you use SIFT to analyze a conspiracy theory one of your friends of family members believed?
  2. People lie today. People lied in the past. Give an example how do you think people lied in the pre-1400 world and how SIFT would address these lies.
  3. What is your process for making sure you are using only your own words or putting quotation marks around others’ words with citations?
