A Grammarly Hack

We all need to proofread our written work, and Grammarly is a service that does that. I have recommended it to my students and colleagues. That said, it’s free and if you don’t pay for a product, you are the product. So, a coder who wanted to use Grammarly created a blank open box that you can use once you have the extension installed on a browser. He recommends installing Grammalry on your least used browswer. Then, you can write text in this text box which will allow you to use Grammarly. If you haven’t created an account with Grammarly and you copy and paste your text, you can protect your writing in a small way from any possible tracking.

To be clear, I don’t have evidence Grammarly is tracking anything written if you just use the extension without an account. But, just in case, consider the above hack as a safeguard.
